Why split screen
Split screen shows two messengers side by side: for example a work chat and a document in the browser, or Telegram and email. You do not have to switch tabs and lose context.
Split screen is part of Pro. You can try it during the free 14 days of Pro.
Presets: save a layout once
If you often open the same pairs of services, save them as presets. After that a layout opens with one shortcut.
The Ctrl+Shift+1…9 shortcut opens the saved preset with that number. Pressing the same shortcut again closes the split.
How to change the hotkeys
Since version 3.1.6 the preset shortcuts can be changed: Settings → Hotkeys, with a row for every saved split.
- Click the shortcut in the row you need.
- Press the new combination.
- If it is taken, Centrio shows by what and asks you to pick another.
On Windows, Ctrl+Shift+digit is sometimes taken by the system keyboard-layout switch. If so, choose another combination, for example with Alt.
Focus mode: remove everything extra
While a split is on, panels around it can distract. Focus mode hides them: Settings → Appearance → Focus mode in split screen. It is off by default.
- the left panel with tabs;
- the right tool panel;
- the bottom status bar;
- the top bar, which slides in when you move the mouse to the top edge of the window.
You choose which ones to hide. When you close the split, everything comes back.
A sample working day
Morning: preset 1, a work Telegram chat and email. Afternoon: preset 2, a customer chat in WhatsApp and a CRM. Evening: preset 3, a family chat and MAX. Switching takes a second and there are no extra panels on screen.
Frequently asked questions
How many presets can I save?
Up to nine, matching the Ctrl+Shift+1…9 shortcuts. You can set your own shortcut for each in the settings.
Is focus mode always on?
No. It applies only while a split screen is open, and the panels return when it closes.
