Station has a public getstation/desktop-app repository. The primary materials checked do not substantiate this article’s previous claim that the project shut down in 2023. The repository and release history are better starting points for checking a specific build than a blanket assertion about all development ending.
Centrio Free supports up to 3 services. Pro costs €4 monthly or €40 annually. Compare the full payment period, taxes and any separate provider charges rather than approximate exchange rates.
First identify what stopped working
Record the Station version, operating system, service address and exact error. Open the same official web service in a browser. If the issue reproduces there, changing aggregators does not address its cause. If the browser works, check available releases and known issues for your particular build.
To migrate, inventory your services and important notification settings. Add accounts to Centrio one at a time using each service’s official sign-in. This guide does not promise automatic Station import. Keep the working installation until messages, files and sign-in after restart have been checked; then revoke unused sessions through the services themselves.
Run the same test in both apps
- Use the same accounts and web pages; verify a new message while the target account is not active. Check sound, badge and the operating-system notification separately.
- Send and receive a small attachment. Open a link outside the app and confirm that it goes to the intended browser or account.
- Restart the app and test after the computer wakes from sleep. A saved session may still expire or be revoked by its service.
- For memory and startup comparisons, record OS, app versions, service count and elapsed time after launch. Measure all related processes with the same workload; idle numbers alone are not a benchmark.
Decide from your actual constraints
Keep Station if it already completes your essential tasks at an acceptable cost. Test Centrio if its arrangement of services and plan features better fits your work. Neither product can guarantee every feature of a native messenger inside its web version.
