Why it matters
A short message usually needs a short answer: "yes", "I will send it in an hour", "got it". To send one you normally have to leave your document, find the messenger, find the chat and only then type. Reply from a notification removes the extra steps: the reply field sits in the pop-up itself.
The feature works for Telegram, WhatsApp and MAX. It appeared in Centrio 3.1.0 and was refined in 3.1.6.
How to reply
- Wait for a Centrio notification about a new message.
- Click the "Reply…" field at the bottom of the pop-up and type your text.
- Press Enter. The pop-up disappears at once and the message goes to the same chat it came from.
Clicking the notification itself, not the reply field, opens Centrio on the right tab and in the right chat.
Where the reply goes and why it does not go "to the wrong chat"
Messenger sites do not switch chats instantly, especially when there are many chats. If you type at that moment, the text can land in the previous chat. Centrio waits until the right chat has really opened, checks it before sending and only then types the reply.
If something goes wrong, for example the chat did not open in time, the message is not sent at all. A separate pop-up tells you why. This is on purpose: an unsent message is better than a message to the wrong person.
What happens to the chat you were working in
In Telegram, after sending the reply Centrio brings back the chat that was open before. You carry on where you stopped instead of ending up in someone else’s conversation. In WhatsApp and MAX the chat stays as it was because switching works differently there.
When reply from a notification is not the right tool
- When you need to send a file, a voice message or a sticker: open the chat, the notification field takes text only.
- When the conversation is complicated and you need the context: click the notification to open the chat.

Can I reply when the Centrio window is minimized?
