Unpack the term “self-hosted”
Some people want to run a server holding team configuration and data. Others need messenger web sessions to remain on their personal computer. Others require open source code they can audit. One label cannot stand in for all these requirements. Write down which data, processes and updates your company policy requires you to control.

Give the account a clear name
On the right, choose a name you will recognize, such as “Work” or a project name. Add the service, then sign in through its usual website.

Build your own workspaceWhat a ready-made app provides
Centrio installs on Windows, macOS and Linux and opens services’ web versions in separate sessions. You do not need to run a server for a normal local workspace. However, it is not a self-hosted product with a Centrio server you deploy yourself. For cloud synchronization and other Pro capabilities, read the current data policy.
The cost of control
Self-hosting means more than avoiding someone else’s cloud: you take responsibility for updates, backups, access and incidents. A ready-made app removes some of that work but requires trust in the developer and its update process. For sensitive corporate accounts, also check whether using a third-party wrapper is permitted.
Choosing without false savings
If a managed server or open source code is a formal requirement, look for a product with those properties and check its licenses. If you simply need several personal web accounts in one window, try Centrio Free and assess its practical value. An app does not become “self-hosted” just because it is installed on your PC.
Frequently asked questions
Can I deploy a Centrio server myself?
The website does not advertise that option; Centrio is a desktop app with separate web sessions.
Are local sessions enough to comply with corporate policy?
That depends on company rules, service providers and synchronization features. Review the policy and agree on usage with your administrator.
